In the first class, the conversation started with everyone's activities, this past week. We then got on to the topic of movies, and whether we enjoyed going to the movies alone, or with a companion. We talked about the kind of movies we liked to see, about new movies coming out,.. about movies we'd seen in the past, and the general topic of 'going to the movies'. We then talked about flying, and the 'fear of flying', some scary experiences some of us had had while traveling by plane. In the second class everyone told about his/ her scariest experiences, either as children, or as an adult. We also talked about what was 'forbidden fruit' for each of us, in our childhoods. It was an interesting two hours, and we heard some scary, and funny stories. We didn't really cover any new words today, except the phrase 'forbidden fruit'.
Forbidden (adjective) = Not allowed according to a rule, law, or custom. eg. It is forbidden to smoke on the subway.
Forbidden fruitt (phrase) = Something that you want very much, or want to do very much, but are not allowed to have, or do, because it is forbidden. It also carries the sense, that because it is forbidden, it becomes much more 'tempting'.
